Paid parking in Provincetown starts May 1 and runs through October 31, seven days a week including holidays. You'll find two main parking lots with 24-hour access and specific hourly rates.
Main Parking Lots
| Lot | Spaces | Hourly Rate | Daily Max |
|---|---|---|---|
| MacMillan Pier | 323 | $4.00 | $40.00 |
| Grace Hall | 354 | $3.00 | $30.00 |
Street Parking
Numbered spaces throughout town cost $2.00 per hour, except for these areas where rates are higher:
- Ryder Street: $2.50 per hour
- Johnston Street Lot: $2.50 per hour
- West End Lot: $2.50 per hour
Street parking is enforced from 8 a.m. to midnight daily. You can pay using the Passport Parking app or by phone at 774-268-8024.
Getting a Permit
If you're a resident or frequent visitor, a parking permit lets you avoid hourly charges. Permits become available in April 2026. Resident permits range from $55 to $150 for the season, while visitor permits cost $175 to $350. Senior residents age 65 and older qualify for free permits.
To apply for a permit, you'll need a valid driver's license and vehicle registration. You can apply online or in person at Town Hall's Lower Level during office hours.
Electric Vehicle Charging
Four Level 2 EV charging stations sit in front of MacMillan Pier on Ryder Street Extension. Charging costs $1.50 per hour, and your vehicle must stay plugged in the entire time.
Parking Tips
If you're visiting for a day, calculate whether a daily maximum or hourly rate works better for you. Staying in a lot all day? Hit the $30 or $40 daily cap and park worry-free. Just stopping by for a few hours? Street parking might be cheaper at $2 per hour.
