Parking Timeline

What You Need to Know
During the free parking season (November through April), you can park on most town-owned streets and lots without paying anything. This includes Commercial Street and numbered parking spaces throughout town.
Once paid parking kicks in on May 1st, you'll need to pay for parking in several ways:
- MacMillan Pier Lot: $4.00 per hour (max $40/day), 323 spaces, open 24/7
- Grace Hall Lot: $3.00 per hour (max $30/day), 354 spaces, open 24/7
- Numbered parking spaces: $2.00 per hour through the Passport Parking app (some areas charge $2.50/hour)
Note that parking enforcement only happens between 8:00 am and 12:00 am, so you can park for free during midnight to 8:00 am even during the paid season.
Action Steps
If you're visiting Provincetown during winter months, take advantage of the free parking. Just remember to check for "Residents Only" signs to avoid parking tickets. If you're staying longer during the summer season, consider getting a visitor parking permit, which becomes available in April 2026. You can apply at the Town Hall Lower Level or call the Parking Office at 508-487-7050.
