You can apply for a resident parking permit in Asbury Park through the online Permit Portal from home, or visit the Parking Office at 801 Springwood Avenue (open Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM). All permits are virtual and linked to your license plate, so no hangtag or decal is needed.
What You'll Need
To qualify, you must live in Zones 1, 2, 3, or 4 and lack access to off-street parking like a driveway, garage, or parking lot. Bring these documents:
For Proof of Residency (choose one):
- Deed or current mortgage payment in your name
- Recent tax or sewer bill in your name
- Current lease in your name
- Valid NJ driver's license with your Asbury Park address plus a utility (gas or electric) or cable/internet bill
For Vehicle Information:
- Vehicle registration in your name
- Valid driver's license
If you live in a building with a parking lot or garage, provide a notarized letter from your landlord or property manager stating you don't have parking access and why.
Permit Limits by Zone
The number of permits you can get depends on your zone and parking situation. In Zones 1, 2, and 3, you can get up to 4 permits per dwelling unit if you have no off-street parking. In Zone 4, the maximum is 2 permits. If you have access to one off-street space, additional resident drivers can get permits, up to 3 total per dwelling unit in Zones 1, 2, and 3.
Important Rules
Between April 15 and October 15, only one vehicle can use your permit at a time, even if you have multiple license plates listed. All resident permit holders must renew their applications by January 31, 2026, with current documentation.
